What are the main processes in label production

03 Dec, 2024 2:22pm

The commonly used metal signage production processes include oxidation, corrosion, stamping, highlight, printing, etc. The production process of plastic signs includes electroplating, baking paint, wire drawing, hot stamping, etc. Below, we will focus on understanding the main processes involved in label production.

1、 What are the oxidation processes for signs: rapid oxidation method, electrolytic coloring method, soaking and trekking printing and dyeing method, low-temperature sealing method, electrophoretic paint replacement method for the second oxidation, different oxidation power sources, etc.

2: What are the commonly used techniques for the concave convex design of metal signs

1. Thick metal panels are extruded with concave molds and punch presses to produce convex characters,

2. It is to use a thin metal panel with convex and concave molds and stamping to draw convex characters,

3. It is to use etching method to etch convex characters on stainless steel, aluminum plate or copper plate.

3、 Label printing process:

1. Silk screen printing: The text, scale, graphics, positioning holes, and colors of the silk screen label should meet the requirements of the drawing. The appearance of the product should have no significant scratches or stains, and the adhesion of the ink film should meet the requirements.

2. Machine printing: It is metal color printing, using offset printing machines, with bright colors and excessive gradient effects, making graphics and text vivid and compelling.

4、 The process of cutting nameplates:

1. Bottom treatment → Stamping forming → High gloss cutting (deep drawing)

2. Stamping forming → Bottom layer treatment → High gloss cutting (cold extrusion)

3. Etching convex characters → Bottom layer treatment → High gloss cutting (etching) of high gloss signs

5、 There are several types of electroplating processes:

Electroplating generally includes gold plating, silver plating, bronze plating, antique copper plating, nickel plating, sand nickel plating, and two-color gold plating.

Attention should be paid to electroplating:

The thickness of the coating directly affects the drawing process, and it is easy to remove the coating during drawing, which cannot achieve the desired effect. The plastic processing time should be controlled to avoid coating bubbles.

6、 Precautions for baking paint:

The paint baking room and environment should be clean, avoiding dust and even paint dilution, and the baking time should be controlled.

7、 Label hot stamping equipment and process:

The machines used for hot stamping convex plastic signs include flat press hot stamping machines, rolling hot stamping machines, and hill climbing hot stamping machines. There are two options for flat ironing machines: technical and mechanical. The hot stamping machine is suitable for producing many hot stamping signs. The hill climbing hot stamping machine is suitable for hot stamping plastic lettering signs with curved shapes. There is a plan for the hot stamping temperature, which needs to reach a healthy contact between the adhesive on the hot stamping foil and the outer surface of the plastic part, so that the hot stamping film can peel off without any defects. Hot stamping is the inductive effect of heat and pressure. Temperature, pressure, and time should be well coordinated, with the principle of plastic parts not deforming. The characters should not become thicker, the lines should not collapse, and the time should be as short as possible. Temperature, pressure, and time control should be determined through trial stamping. Mastering the process knowledge of label production will enable us to design and produce more exquisite products for your company's label.
